About me

Born & raised in Dallas and now living in Plano, TX. Graduate of UT-Austin and currently employed in higher education fundraising . Met the love of my life in Rome, Italy in 2008 and married him in 2011. Six short months later, we added a four-legged furbaby to the family named Savannah. I continue to serve as foster dog-mom through Habitat 4 Paws, a local dog-rescue organization. I travel every chance I get and hope to see as much of this beautiful world as possible during this life.

Saved by Jesus’ grace and believe God has created every human for a relationship with Him. To create, enjoy and take pleasure in the good gifts He gives us every day. Food is one of those gifts. I do not think food is to be hated, feared, or mindlessly consumed. But rather, it is to be savored, enjoyed, and relished to ultimately inspire worship and thanksgiving in our hearts.

My take on food is simple: eat real food. Whether it’s lovingly created at home or by your favorite local chef, eat real food with real ingredients you can trace back to natural origins. Stay out of the middle of the grocery store where food is processed and ingredients are unpronounceable. You can make your own pasta or pizza dough and support your local farmer who raises their animals humanely. No one does this perfectly or daily here in the US, but I do believe it is worth pursuing. And then every once in awhile? Cheat and eat that fast-food cheeseburger. 😉 Everything in moderation…including moderation.

I can’t promise you gluten-free, fat-free, calorie-free, Whole30, whatever-other-diet-approved recipes on this blog, but I can pledge that every recipe will feature real food and ingredients your great-grandmother would recognize…like butter!
